RESIST DYEING

If everyone were the same, there would be no pattern.

If all our threads were the same,

there would be no texture.

If all threads could not have the power to resist,

there wouldn’t be diamonds on my grandmother’s wrapper.

If all threads could not be twisted,

there wouldn’t be drops.

If the heat broke all threads down,

you wouldn’t see the colors rise to the surface.
